ERTC Conference: Madrid 15 – 18 November
The ERTC conference will take place in Madrid from 15 to 18 November 2021 with Concawe participating in presentations, panel discussions and ad-hoc workshops on how the refining sector can contribute to the European climate neutrality and circular economy objectives.
On November 17, Concawe’s Director Jean-Marc Sohier will look into future refining models and how the European refining system could fit into the energy transition. After this session, Science Executive Damien Valdenaire will share the main findings of the deep dives on Technological & energy pathways for maritime & aviation to reduce emissions towards 2050. On day 3, John Cooper, Concawe and FuelsEurope’s Director General, will participate in the closing panel discussion with the European Commission on the future role of refining and energy intensive industries in the context of the European Green Deal.
On November 18, members of the Concawe Low Carbon Pathways team (Jean-Marc Sohier, Marta Yugo, Damien Valdenaire, Alba Soler, and Iván Rodríguez) will participate in an ad-hoc workshop on “Sustainability model workshop: The Blueprint of Future Refineries”. They will be facilitating the discussion around low carbon technologies, accessibility to resources and the evolution of transport sector within the context of the Concawe’s Refinery 2050 work. Finally, Marta Yugo will join the last ad-hoc workshop about Routes to Decarbonisation with a focus on REDII(I), co-processing & biofuel related aspects.
