The past year has seen a dramatic fall in the price of crude oil, resulting in a number of high profile mergers, and further cost-cutting and staff reduction programmes in the oil industry. At the same time, public concerns about the environment continue to grow, as do the range and complexity of environmental, health and safety issues facing us.

Overall, this adds up to one of the most challenging periods in our history.The impact of these changes has been felt strongly at CONCAWE through ever-growing demands for its expertise, further-tightening of company resources to work on the issues, and budget constraints. CONCAWE is responding to these challenges.
