European cross-country pipelines

The yearly CONCAWE report on the safety and environmental performance of European cross-country pipelines is complete and will be published soon.

The data collected for 2003 from 65 companies and other bodies covers 250 different pipelines with a combined length of more than 36.000 km. In 2003 these lines transported some 817 million m3 of crude oil and refined products for a total traffic volume of 143 x 109 m3 x km, up 11% compared to 2002. The database includes virtually the entire land-based oil pipeline inventory in the EU-15 and is being gradually extended to the new Member States.
