The optimal vehicle electrification level in a battery-constrained future (Concawe Review 30.1)
In light of the EU’s commitment to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in Europe, there is considerable uncertainty as to whether battery production capacity will be able to meet the growing demand for batteries in Europe towards 2030.
This article summarises the results of a study that explores the optimal passenger car sales composition that would minimise well-to-wheels GHG emissions as a function of battery production capacity.
